John Matheson is the Co-Founder/Managing Director & General Counsel of Asset Token Ventures, LLC, bringing 30+ years of global executive leadership across energy, utilities, manufacturing, financial services, medical devices, and real estate. He has held C-suite roles, including CEO, COO, Chief Restructuring Officer, and General Counsel, working in 25+ countries with both public and private companies. He is an E&Y Entrepreneur of the Year, member of the E&Y Hall of Fame and a graduate of Harvard Business School and Georgetown University Law Center.
Previously, John served as President, CEO, and Board Member of Global Power Equipment Group (NYSE: GEG), leading engineering, manufacturing, and project management initiatives. He also held executive roles at The Williams Companies (NYSE: WMB) and Express Integrated Technologies and was a partner at Conner & Winters. Earlier in his career, he practiced law in the U.S. Virgin Islands with the Marjorie Rawls Roberts firm and was a CPA with Price Waterhouse.
A dedicated philanthropist, John has spent 25+ years advocating for at-risk youth and currently serves on the Humane Society of St. Thomas board. He is a member of the U.S. Virgin Islands Bar Association, Oklahoma Bar Association, and a Harvard Club of NYC Nominating Delegate.
John holds degrees from Harvard Business School, Georgetown University Law Center, and graduated summa cum laude from the University of Oklahoma Price School of Business. In 2009, he was awarded Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year and inducted into the E&Y Hall of Fame for his leadership.
